📢 British Columbian Speed Skaters are hitting the ice!  As the Short Track World Cup circuit is about to begin in Calgary, Speed Skating Canada has named BC skaters Jamie Macdonald (Fort St. James) and Alison Desmarais (Vanderhoof) to the racing roster.  The nominations come following outstanding performances at the Short Track Canadian Championships this past fall, where Macdonald was crowned the Canadian Champion.

The 2018 Olympian Macdonald will not participate in the first two World Cups of the season, as it is not included in her season training and competition plans.  Desmarais and the Canadian team will kick-off Canada’s international season at the Calgary Olympic Oval from November 2-4, 2018.
