COVID-19 Update

COVID-19 Update

December 13, 2021

To the BC Speed Skating Membership, Families and Friends,

It has been nearly two years since we’ve had the opportunity to come together in person for a provincial competition, we’re looking forward to the Start Together phase of our Provincial Reactivation in accordance with Provincial Health Officer orders.  In the interest of providing safe provincial events, the BC Speed Skating Board of Directors has mandated that all provincial events will require proof of approved vaccination for Covid-19 for participants, volunteers and spectators 12 years of age and older.

Due to the short timeline for the BC Long Track Championships, participants who are 12 – 21 years of age will be required to show proof of at least their first dose being administered prior to January 13, 2022. Participants 12 – 21 years of age  will require full vaccination for the BC Short Track Championships. The Board highly recommends that everyone between 6-11 years of age get vaccinated.  The only medical exemptions honoured will be those issued by the Ministry of Health.

Thank you and keep safe.

Sincerely,

Kari Rae, President, BC Speed Skating Association
